Valerie and Angelo were both born and raised in Etobicoke.  From their experience, they wanted to raise their own children, Sabrina, 18, and Michael, 16, in the west end as well. More specifically, the Kingsway.  “It’s a great location with close proximity to the airport, highways, parks, shopping, bike/running trails and great schools for kids,” says Valerie. “We love how there are families who have lived here for ages, lots of kids, professionals and the diversity. As well as, everyone taking such pride in their homes and gardens in the neighbourhood.” The Gerardi children are very much involved in athletics.

Before attending Queen’s University’s Commerce Program, Sabrina used to be a competitive swimmer for the Etobicoke Swim Club and Lakeshore Swim Club. She was also a swim coach at Lakeshore Swim Club.
Michael is a competitive hockey player with the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). He has played for West Mall Lighting, Etobicoke Bulldogs, Toronto Wolverines, Mississauga North Stars and the Toronto Avalanche. He also works at Weston Golf and Country Club.  The Gerardi’s favourite Kingsway hotspots are: Starbucks, Brentwood Library, GoodLife Fitness, Kingsway Fish & Chips and Just Greek Restaurant.

Valerie and Angelo also work together at their company Anvale Homes Inc. They are custom homebuilders, renovators and are licensed registered builders with Tarion Warranty.  “After working for years in my family building business, Angelo and I decided to venture off in 2007 and start Anvale Homes,” says Valerie. “The company’s name developed from a combination of our first names, Angelo and Valerie.”

Her father, Albert Kartavicius, who was a renowned local homebuilder, mentored Valerie. Ever since she was 10-years-old she would visit his building sites and help him with various administrative and onsite tasks.  “My childhood interest developed into a passion that influenced me to join my father’s business after graduating from York University with a degree in Psychology and Business Administration,” says Valerie.  Along with being a part business owner, Valerie is also a realtor with Royal LePage Your Community Realty Brokerage.  “In the last 25 years, I have helped thousands of people buy, sell, renovate and build new homes in the GTA,” says Valerie. Her extensive realtor background helps provide real estate guidance for clients.

Angelo has experience in masonry, carpentry, roofing, plumbing, interior custom millwork, architectural and mechanical engineering. He oversees all the stages of each custom home build.  “Each project is unique just like each one of our clients, therefore we pay particular attention to each and every detail. We deliver a product that our clients and we are proud of,” says Angelo.  The Gerardi’s both enjoy working closely  with homeowners to help build their dream home. They believe a home represents more than just a place to dwell.

“A home is a sanctuary for a family to come together and share their lives,” says Valerie. “We ensure that our clients home reflects and caters to their lifestyle, providing them with a place that they are proud to call home.”
